Early Spring Kayaking

- Special Offer -

Sea kayaking in a Viking atmosphere

The sea kayaking activity in the early spring is almost a magical nature experience. We offer combined paddle instruction and breathtaking sight seeing with a kayak instructor as your guide. The mountain tops will still be capped with snow. At this time of the year you really get the feeling of being Far North. In the fjords you may see small whales, seals and sometimes sea eagles. We offer paddling instruction for beginners, as well as experienced paddlers. No matter which one of our many different kayak trips you choose, you will be sure to be awed by the stunning fjord landscape with mountains rising majestically towards the sky.

Location

All sea kayak trips take place on the Eidfjord, going into the Simadalsfjord, the innermost part of the Hardangerfjord. As the Sima Valley is very narrow with steep mountains on both sides you get the ultimate fjord feeling on this kayak trip. Furthermore the Simadalsfjord is rather protected from other traffic, so the authentic fjord feeling of Norway will not be spoiled by enormous, motorized vessels.

Practical information

You meet with the instructor directly by the fjord. The meeting point is in front of the COOP Supermarket, centre of Eidfjord. We recommend you to be there approx. 5 – 10 min. in advance. As this is still a rather cold time of the year, all guests will be wearing a drysuit. The drysuit + neoprene boots will be provided by FlatEarth and is included in the price.
